CONCIERTO DE NAVIDAD
Gençana Big Band, integrada actualmente por 32 alumnos del centro de 10 a 14 años, nació en el curso 2015-2016 como resultado del trabajo que se viene desarrollando en el área de Expresión Musical del centro.
Para la formación de los alumnos de Gençana Big Band, se invita a reconocidos músicos de jazz del Berklee College of Music , quienes mantienen relación con el centro gracias a los conciertos que organiza el AMPA Jacarandá. Estos conciertos de música sirven de pretexto para que los alumnos de Secundaria realicen en Educación Plástica y Visual los carteles de las sesiones de jazz que se prevén en cada curso, que son posteriormente recopilados en una exposición.
En esta ocasión, Gençana Big Band realizará un concierto en la Casa Ronald McDonald de Valencia, ubicada en el recinto hospitalario del Hospital Universitari i Politecnic La Fe.
Devolver a las familias de niños hospitalizados por enfermedades graves el calor y el apoyo de un “hogar fuera del hogar”, el regalo de la cotidianidad, es la principal misión de esta fundación, que abrió en 2013 y actualmente acoge a 16 familias.

LAS TRES REINAS MAGAS
El Grupo de Teatro del AMPA Jacarandá realizará una representación teatral de la obra de la escritora Gloria Fuertes «Las tres Reinas Magas».
En la segunda parte de la representación, que se celebrará en el Bosque de Gençana, los alumnos del Coro recitarán y cantarán versos del poemario «El Camello Cojito», también de Gloria Fuertes.

TRINQUET DE PELAYO
On August 20, 1868, a new ball court was opened on the street of Pelayo, next to the North Station, which would receive the name of the street, not yet drawn: “Trinquet Pelayo”.
This sports facility, is known as the Cathedral of the “Escala i corda”, and is one of the most famous ball courts, where the finals of important competitions such as Bancaixa’ Circuit are usually held.
In this activity that will take place on 14TH of December, experienced players, will give a presentation on the theoretical foundations and basic rules of “Raspall”. Finally, a practical session will be conducted in order to work with newly learned skills in a playful way.
In this practice, specific warming exercises from “Raspall” will be realized and this day will conclude with a small mini tournament in which the basic rules will be remembered.

CATEDRAL DE VALENCIA
Los alumnos realizarán una visita guiada por la Catedral de Valencia, en ella se les mostrará la diversidad de estilos arquitectónicos que hace tan característica esta catedral. También visitarán el interior de la misma, donde se les mostrarán las obras relevantes del arte Sacro.
Como parte de la propuesta de plástica de este trimestre, después de la visita los alumnos de 2º ESO dibujarán el exterior de la Catedral. El trabajo realizado durante la salida servirá como estudios previo para el dibujo final que se presentará “XXVII Concurso de Patrimonio Nacional de Pintura Infantil y Juvenil para Centros Escolares».

DEBATE CRÍTICO
El ejercicio del debate permite que los alumnos exploren críticamente diferentes puntos de vista sobre un tema problemático. El debate crítico, además, nos invita a llegar a consensos y, de esta manera, fomenta la empatía y el entendimiento.
Los alumnos de 4º de Educación Secundaria han preparado tanto en la materia de Valores Éticos como en Ciencias Sociales un debate en torno al tema: «¿Es responsable el pueblo alemán del holocausto?»

CIRCUS WORKSHOP
Laia Sales and Mari Marcos are the founding members of “Decopivolta Theatre Company” since 2011.
They are formed as an actress in Barcelona, at the “International School of Theatre BertyTobías”. Both were involved in Lecoq method.
Laia is formed as a contemporary dancer specializing herself in Sport Dance during more than 10 years. As a juggler, she’s specialized in Contact ball and stilts dance. She is interested on combining her knowledge of circus skills with theatre. Mary is specializing herself as a clown.
They were formed with artists such as Michael Doofy (artistic director of Cirque du Soleil), Cristian Athanassious (international famous clown), Stephane Boko (choreographer of Cirque du Soleil), among others.
In addition, they have been trained by professionals such as Christophe Thellier and Fanny Giraud (clown school where they give importance to the feelings and emotions of the actors); by Élise Buffet Ouvrier (physical humour, search for comedy from body work) and finally, by Pau Bachero, (physical theatre, musicality of the movements and rhythm in the scene).
Among their works it is worth mentioning, “Doblecita”, that won the first award at the VI Internacional Clown Festival of Xirivella in 2011. They won a special mention in “XI Circuito Café Teatro de Valencia”. On second place, “Entretingudes» (performed for the first time at the 23rd Mostra de Mim de Sueca) and in third place, «TULIPAS» show on tour (3rd prize of the judges and prize for best actress at Festival Noctívagos).
Laia and Mary are habitual collaborators guest of Gençana. In this occasion, Laia and Mari Marcos will help us to reinforce the work of manipulation of the different elements such us balance ball. It will give us advices to improve the skill and to discover new possibilities.
Students from the 1st course of Secondary Education will enjoy in this workshop as a complementary activity of the didactic unit “Circus Parade”.
